The Girl with a Lantern

When I saw the reference photo for the first time, for some reason my heart felt warm and fuzzy. It also reminded me of the time when I was 10 years old that I was split up from my older brother because of our parents' divorce.
Because of some traumatic experiences, I don't really remember much from before I was 10. But when I saw the photo, it reminded me of just how much I loved my older brother. We were inseparable and loved going on adventures! I don't remember anything in detail....but, something about this girl's expression reminded me of how I must have looked then... a young girl running around chasing after her active brother, and I just had to put it into a painting.
