Fallen in Fall

I have a series of fallen tree paintings going, and I noticed this opportunity on one of my stream hikes. This is typical for me in that it was done over many plein air sessions, probably around 16. I thrive on painting outside and the confidence in color that it provides. Another kind of benefit for this piece came along on day 5, I think. I'd been wondering about that water, painting with several days of breezes leaving their blue fingers running across the reflections, while thinking: "Hmm, maybe." Then on day 5, it was calm glass, and the fallen leaves were a silent slow parade going by. Inside, I heard that: "Yes!!" that I always wait for.
