NICOLE MARTINELLI Artist Bio
The world that we ‘see’ around us is not the real world but our mind’s representation of our senses. The sky is not blue; this is something that our minds create.
This opens up interesting possibilities for art, for as our mind represents reality; likewise our art is also created by representation. Art has the potential to convey our minds representation of reality, by a further representation of art that overcomes naive real illusions to ‘see’ things as they truly are, as they should be.
“A great artist is always before his time or behind it .
George Moore
I identify with this statement, I feel I fit into the latter category, I personally do not relate to modern art nor do I desire to create it .
I have always honored and respected artists as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and feel my work reflects this .
“The only time I feel alive is when I’m painting.
(Vincent Van Gogh ).
Painting has always brought me solace, serenity it the link that brings my mind, heart, and soul to a perfect balance and alignment
while I am creating I transmit these inner feelings On to my canvas
Art is initially taking an object, fruit, flower , location and essentially breathing your personal representation of that subject matter and manifesting its life through your own eyes ,your perception.
Every piece I paint is like taking a looking glass into my mind heart and soul. . .
I am evolving every day, growing and experiencing my world as a prism of light catching beautiful colors and capturing them on canvas
“Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art.”
(Leonardo Da Vinci)
I strongly am convicted in continuing to using this gift of mine to full extent
Art is not just an interpretation of life and our surroundings
To an artist it becomes a way of life, and life itself.
“ My spirit exists and lies on canvas”….
If I can inspire awaken and bring solace and pleasure to others as I have found myself while creating
I have reached and achieved my artistic goal.
I feel currently the human race on a whole is experiencing far too much suffering and turmoil through out the world .
I feel I am an instrument in a sense to bring them joy in their lives that has been stolen from them during these troubling critical times.
My paintings are an offering of the peace ,tranquility , and serenity that we ALL reminincse and long for.
I paint peaceful scenes of the increidble beauty nature has to offer (that many have taken for granted until the recent societal condtions )
Sceanary that resonates joy, happiness ,and redirects, reignites the light into their lives.
