It is an outdoor painting of a street in Brighton, not far from where I live. I wanted to capture the early morning light so I went out with my gears. I couldn’t find a better composition than this when I ended up here, so I cracked on with a quick sketch and put some colours on. It was a chilly autumn morning. Colours were on the peak. It took me 45 minutes to finish it, used tiny bit of guache for highlights. Then I rushed back home for a cup of tea! My fingers were numbed when I winded up my gears though I certainly had a grin on my face. Nothing can beat a pleinair day out!
