BLACKSMITH OF VENANGO

My genre is Eastern Woodland Frontier of the 18th century. The blacksmith of Venango was John Frazier. In 1752 ,He was chased from his shop by the French from Canada, as they entered the Ohio Country along the Allegheny River. This area was contested territory. The English considered it theirs & the French were certain it was more rightly theirs.
In 1753 , a 21 year old Major George Washington arrived at Venango on his way to deliver a message to the French to vacate English lands. By 1754 the first incidents began that resulted in the French & Indian or Seven Years War.
